What does this mean for me?
All residents should be aware there will be disruption to routine bin collections over the Christmas period. GWHA are liaising with the council to ensure the impact is mitigated. Glasgow City Council have assured us that there is a recovery plan in place which includes additional bin lorries and resources.
Your bins will be collected but it may not be on the routine date.
In the interest of safety and hygiene, there are things you can do to help:
· Please double bag your waste to prevent any spillages.
· Do not add general waste to recycling bins.
· In terms of fire safety, do not leave your bags in the close.
· If you are able to, consider using your closest recycling centre at Shieldhall, just through the Clyde tunnel.
· For household bulk items, please keep them in your home until the new year and contact our Estates Team to arrange a bulk uplift.
As part of GCC’s catch back plan, they will be uplifting any excess bin bags from the result of missed or delayed collections. We understand this may be frustrating and greatly appreciate your patience.
If you have any concerns regarding your communal areas and back courts, please reach out to our Estates team by email at estates@glasgowwestha.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve any issues when we return in the new year.
Thank you.
