Your Tenancy Services Officer is here to help you and offer advice.
If you are failing to pay your rent, for whatever reason, come and speak to us now and don’t make things worse.

What will happen if I contact you about my rent arrears?
We will arrange a private appointment in our office or at your home if this is more suitable.

How can they help me?
Our staff are trained to deal with your problems confidentially. This may include:

• Agreeing an arrangement with you for repayment of the amount due in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments.
• Helping identify benefits you may be entitled to.
• Referring you to our Welfare Benefits Advisers for support and assistance.
• Referring you to outside agencies that may be able to offer additional specialist advice and/or support to meet your needs.
• Arranging an appointment for you to meet with Citizens Advice Bureau and Drumchapel Money Advice Centre.

What will happen if I do not respond to staff?
We will do everything within our power to help you stay in your home. If arrears continue to increase we may consider taking legal action and in some cases this may lead to us recovering possession of your home. Please do not let this happen to you and speak to us.

What other action can you take to collect my arrears??
We will make every effort to help you deal with your rent arrears but we need you to work with us. If we are unable to reach an agreement with you, or if you do not keep to the arrangement made, we may consider further action. For example, we may apply for the rent you owe to be deducted from your benefit of even apply to the court to ask for deductions to be made from your wages.

Why is it important for us to collect rent?
A large part of your rent goes directly into repairing and maintaining your home. We also use part towards upgrading your and other tenants’ homes.
