Anti-Social Behaviour within Kelvingrove Park

Anti-Social Behaviour within Kelvingrove Park

09 April 2021

Glasgow City Council and Police Scotland are currently working together on a local action plan to tackle the issues of antisocial behaviour, large scale disturbances, alcohol consumption, noise and litter within Kelvingrove Park.

As part of the wider effort to ensure Kelvingrove Park is a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors, this year specific park gates will be closed on days when large numbers are expected. This allows Police Scotland and GCC to staff the open gates, to manage the flow of people entering the park and ensuring park management rules and local alcohol bye-laws are being adhered to. The park will be monitored closely and additional CCTV equipment is being installed in order to increase community safety and capture any footage of ASB/ criminality.

Youth engagement will also be carried out within and out with the park in order to gather more information, signpost people to diversionary activities in their local community and offer support to any young person where required.
