We are pleased to announce that applications are open for the Glasgow West Fuel Fund. 

We have funding in place which could assist you with your fuel costs. This is not administered by a 3rd party, and is exclusive to GWHA tenants.

You can apply if you:

• pay 10% of your net income towards fuel bills, after paying housing costs
• are experiencing difficulties maintaining an acceptable standard of living  

All applications will be based on your individual circumstances, and your details will be kept confidential.  

The fund is open to all, including tenants who are working from home, and those who have had their income reduced through furlough. Please note these payments are not restricted to benefit claimants, and are determined by your remaining income after fuel and housing costs. 

Our Welfare Rights team will contact you to gather the necessary information, including details of wages/benefits to fully assess your need.  We work jointly with a national fuel bank, and are able to quickly obtain credits for pre-pay fuel meters. We provide a standard credit of £49.  

The fuel bank will then send you a text or email directly within 1 working day. They will issue an electronic code directly to your utility account and you will have to attend a local shop to activate it.  

For those tenants who do not have pre-payment meters, we are still able to assist by arranging a bank payment of £49 to assist with your utility costs.
