Projects – Technical Officer x 1
EVH Grade 6/7: £28,538 - £36,648 Salary dependent on experience

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual with the right skills and experience to make a positive impact in our local communities in the West of Glasgow.

You will assist the successful delivery of our ambitious £25m capital investment and cyclical maintenance plans across traditional and non-traditional multi-tenure developments. Working within our Technical Team, and where relevant, in conjunction with the appointed 3rd party Project Managers you will be responsible for the progression and delivery of projects across all GWHA properties. In your role you will drive high quality and performance standards and regulatory compliance through on-site inspections, robust contractor management and proactive customer engagement throughout investment projects.

The successful candidates will be performance driven, and will demonstrate role flexibility, proficient IT skills, excellent communication, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.  Experience of domestic and residential project management including contractor management and customer service experience is essential for this post.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Commitment to enhanced customer service through the provision of quality advice, information and support to residents and the community.
  • High level of technical/ specialist knowledge, focusing on the protection of property assets through the delivery of major repairs/ cyclical and reactive maintenance services.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records, reporting and administrative systems. 


Key Tasks:

  1. Developing business case and options appraisals, and delivering projects across all GWHA properties.
  2. Property inspections / reporting to assess compliance with Scottish Housing Quality Standard / Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing, to inform investment strategy. 
  3. Develop works specifications and assist in preparing tender documentation in line with GWHA procurement strategy.
  4. Issuing repairs instructions/specifications and ensuring contractor compliance.
  5. Assessing and addressing contractor performance in respect of quality and performance across all functions.
  6. Representing GWHA at residents and other stakeholder meetings etc.
  7. Scrutinising invoices / valuation requests for accuracy/value for money before processing within delegated authority.

  4. Supporting and contributing to operational contract administration and grant applications. 
  5. Representing GW at residents and other stakeholder meetings etc.
  6. Scrutinising invoices / valuation requests for accuracy/value for money before processing within delegated authority.
  7. Liaising with tenants and others regarding medical adaptations, alterations/improvements, planning applications, major repairs/cyclical works programmes.
