Accessibility Statement
We are fully committed to making the content of this site accessible to all. To accomplish this, we designed the site to comply with internationally accepted standards as set down by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). This has enabled our pages to meet high accessibility standards. We review and improve the sites conformance to these standards and guidelines using online validation tools and manual checks. We also actively act on the latest authoritative advice and feedback from our visitors.

For conformance to W3C recommendations we use XHTML 1.0 Transitional structured semantic mark-up and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS level 2.1) for visual layout. This ensures that the site supports as wide a range of browsers as possible and allows users of all abilities (including those with a visual impairment or physical disability) to access the site. The content of each page is still readable if your browser does not support style sheets.

Level Double-A conformance, W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional Valid CSS!

The following guidelines will assist you in using the website

Resize text
We use relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers. You can also increase and decrease text size by using the zoom function on modern browsers. To increase text size use Ctr++. To decrease text size use Ctr+- and to reset text size use Ctl+0 (number zero).

Navigation aids

This website provides a consistent navigation system:

  • You can return to the home page at any time by clicking on the HOME button.
  • We display the primary navigation links along the top while secondary navigation links are down the left column.
  • We display useful quick links relevant to the section visited down the right column and popular quick links for the complete website down the left column of the page.
  • Links have title attributes that describe the link in detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article). The link text is written to make sense out of context.
  • All pages include a search box and a link to a sitemap.
Images

All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.

Documents
Adobe Acrobat (PDF) Microsoft Word (DOC) Excel (XLS) PowerPoint (PPT)
Most documents for downloading from this site is in the PDF format, an open standard for document exchange. To view these documents you need to use a PDF file viewer such as Adobe Reader that is available from Adobe Systems. The full version of Adobe Reader includes features that enhance the accessibility of PDF documents.
Some documents for download may be in other file format. If you do not have a suitable application to open the document then you can obtain a free viewer program available from the Microsoft web site.

Printing
By using a modern web browser that understands 'style sheets', our pages should print well without the need for a separate print version. Just use your browser's normal print function.

Screen Readers
The site has been carefully designed with screen reader software in mind and has been tested on the NVDA screen reader program. NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) is a free and open source screen reader for the Microsoft Windows operating system enabling blind or vision impaired people to access computers running Windows. It has the ability to run entirely from a USB drive with no installation.

Language
Google can translate the site into many different languages using the translation facilities provided. Select your language of choice from the Google selector on the left column.

Reporting problems
If you encounter a problem with the layout or functionality of one of our pages, you can report it by contacting us. Please include details of which page, the nature of the problem, which operating system and browser you are using (including any assistive technologies such as NVDA if appropriate).
