Glasgow City Council have announced that from Thursday 10 December they will operate a by-request-only service for bulk uplifts from residents in flats and main door properties.
A request-only service means the council will no longer be collecting bulky waste from designated pick-up points on 'bulk day'.
Residents can place a request for a maximum of 10 items on the MyGlasgow App or by using the online form at: www.glasgow.gov.uk/bulkywaste (from 10 December).
You will receive an email acknowledgement and once your request has been processed you will receive a further email with your Collection Date. Please only present your bulky waste on the day before your Collection Date.
Place it within the grounds of your property (e.g. a backcourt or garden) and ensure it does not obstruct bins or common pathways. Just leaving items on the street or in a back lane will be regarded as fly-tipping and the people responsible will be open to enforcement action. Our tenants in Blythswood Court & St Vincent Terrace should continue to use the bulk room at present.
Find the full update on the Glasgow City Council website here. If you have any queries about the most appropriate place to leave your bulky waste, contact our Estates Team at estates@glasgowwestha.co.uk or call 0141 331 6650.
Alternative Options
The council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres are open 7 days a week or if items are in good condition, residents can also use Zero Waste Scotland's National Re-use Tool and donate items to charity.
